Domestic Energy Assessor
The European Parliaments Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) 2002 made provisions that domestic properties must have energy reports conducted by a qualified person. In order to meet the demands the department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) developed qualifications, the Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment (DEA Level 3 Dip).
Harrogate Energy Solutions are registered members of the Stroma Accreditation Scheme. We operate a strict Code of Practice, are fully insured and have a robust complaints procedure in place.
The Survey
In order to complete the survey access will be required throughout your property including the loft.
The inspection will need to be conducted in daylight in order to evidence the information required to complete the assessment.
The report will consider the age, construction and insulation levels of the component parts of the property including any extensions and conservatories.
We will review your Space and Water Heating systems and their controls, Lighting systems, Ventilation and Window type.
Floor area of the property will be measured, Heat Loss Perimeter determined and Ceiling heights confirmed. In addition photographic evidence will be required to support our findings.
Following the inspection you will receive a copy of the EPC and in addition the report will be lodged with the Governments approved Register www.herregister.com where it can be accessed by entering the Report Reference Number.
